I'm using this laptop as I write this review. The laptop exhudes typical Toshiba quality, and arrives fully packed with extra software. I only wish Microsoft would quit pushing its 'trial' Office 2003 on everyone's computers. if you use the 'buy now online' Microsoft feature, the price to buy it is 0! You can shop around and get a better bargain and most people are using Office anyway, so drop the trial version, Microsoft! Besides, you don't even get the CD. Toshiba includes One Note, which I haven't gotten the hang of, and MS Works. Works is a great free program because it now includes the ability to save as Word or Excel files to take to work.

The screen on this laptop is nice and bright. At night I use it at half power, and I get great battery life. When using the Tablet PC function, it responds very nicely. The writing feels like you're using a nice, fat felt pen. The conversion time from laptop to tablet screen takes a while as does boot up. Also, a hint to those who will buy this one. I kept changing the screen resolution from 1200 to 1024 because it was just too small viewing for me. When I restarted the laptop it went back to high resolution. The trick: use the Intel Graphics manager instead of the Windows manager. The hard drive is 80gb and already I lost about 15gb to Toshiba stuff on it. The keys kind of wiggle around and are clicky, but they work well and I don't have too much of the cursor jumping around while I'm typing.

I took this laptop to Salem Oregon with my wife and while travelling, it received high marks for the 'coolness factor.' A lot of people liked it and a lot of people stared at it! Sure was easy to tote through the airport, though! After owning an eight pound Dell! The utilities supplied by Toshiba for wireless and Bluetooth work flawlessly, and the wireless connection has been excellent.

I called Toshiba once and got tech support in the Phillipines. The tech was cool and very sharp. He helped me fix my issue in three minutes and I wasn't on hold for more than that. If you send in the Registration Card you get a free USB Toshiba laptop mouse, too!

I'm trading this work computer with another department for a Toshiba U205 12.1" widescreen. I've never had a need for the tablet pc functionality, I'm more comfortable typing than writing on the tablet. But I could see how a businessperson who did a lot of presentations could fire this baby up and plug in a projector very easy and do a show with Powerpoint or make notes on a document with One Note. Very cool functionality!

Toshiba is pulling to the front of the pack in sales because their products rock! They're sturdy, exhude class, and are very smart devices all around. I'd also recommend you buy the very cool Toshiba laptop case that is offered with this computer. Buy this computer, you'll be glad you did!

I had to get this laptop for school and this is what i can say. Processing isnt great, comes with a lot of toshiba utilities which often crash. I used it on a desk most of the time, but after a year of use i noticed whenever i moved it the computer freezes and the fans spin up to 100% speed. I've never had a problem like this with any other laptop. Dells, gateways, sonys, apples are all reccommended far before this one. Small, works when its not frozen, but can play some games. Please go buy an apple and save your money instead of having to buy virus protection and windows necessities. please please please apples computers are worth what you pay and will last a lot longer.
