After a couple first generation EEE PCs that soon showed how cheap they really are, and an Acer a150 (8.9" model) that died after 4 months, I found myself netbook shopping once again. I was NOT going to get another acer. But after looking at all of them, trying them out whenever possible, the acers were the only ones I was compatible with. That 8.9" acer was a great little computer until it didn't turn on one day. I could have sent it back for repair, but got lazy and let the warranty run out. I bought this particular model because it had XP. I'm sure Windows 7 is lovely, but I really like XP.

This computer has been awesome! So light, and very thin. The bigger (than the 8.9") screen makes a huge difference, I didn't realize it would. I often forget that I am using a netbook. I don't see why people keep saying netbooks are slow and underpowered. I have no problems, programs open quickly, music is smooth, internet is fast (especially after I switched from IE to google chrome). Although, streamed videos are slightly choppy at times, but I can deal with that, I don't stream much anyway.

I highly recommend this to anyone.

hard drive, fan, AND motherboard went within 7 months! - Griselda Harp -
This is the worst computer I have ever owned. The hard drive, fan, AND motherboard went within 7 months of my purchasing it. I sent it back to Acer (at my expense) they "fixed it" and sent it back several weeks later. It worked for literally 15 minutes and then crashed again- wouldn't even turn on. It was finally fixed after the second trip back to Acer- but now for some reason the touchpad- which was always really bad- is even worse than ever. It skips, sticks, won't scroll properly, and makes the text suddenly larger or smaller for no reason. If the cursor is accidentally moved too slowly over an add or link it automatically goes there without even clicking the touchpad! Do not buy this computer- the only thing good about it is it's small portable size. It is obviously cheap for a very good reason. Save yourself a giant headache and spend a little more money to get a better computer.
