I've had my pink netbook for over a month. I am very pleased!

I'm especially happy with its external monitor feature. I have hooked it up to two different monitors and an HDTV, all with great success. When you connect it via the VGA port, a little window pops up which allows you to choose what you want to do, and at what resolution. AND, you can set the resolution much higher than the built-in monitor's size. So on my 46" T.V., I feel quite powerful.

The 1MB RAM installed does not slow me down much at all, though I don't use memory-intensive features. I wouldn't stream video on such a small machine anyway.

Stand-by works like a charm, and if you leave it on stand-by too long, it automatically hibernates. Some other P.C.'s I've used would freeze every day or two or just wouldn't take, so I'm happy that this one actually works! The battery works for a long time, so I don't even charge it every day.

The touchpad is smooth (which is why the unpleasantly bumpy Asus was booted out of the running), the glossy finish is not too fingerprinty, and its matte screen is nice for those of us who don't like reflections.

The built-in camera, though I believe is 0.3 megapixels, gives a crisp image at least in daylight. No problems with Wi-Fi at all in a two-story house, and love that it has a built-in SD card slot for easy transfer of photos from a camera.

Then there's the USB port I use to charge my MP3 player and my European phone while I travel when it's off, and two more!

And it's pink! Which I paid about extra for because I knew the extra bit of happiness I got from seeing the cheery color would pay for itself in no time. It has! Also, now that this is selling via [...], you get free shipping, and [...] ships fast! I did Supersaver with Amazon and it took a good week-and-a-half, nail-biting but still worth the wait.

Note: for use abroad, you'll need a three-prong to foreign adapter plug. No voltage converter of course. It also has two little feet in the back that may not be comfortable on your legs but is not a biggie.

Never had a netbook before, but am pleased with how quiet it is. I don't hear any fan noise or anything. Bliss. Gets a touch warm on the left side but not uncomfortably so.

Conclusion: love it!

HP G60-630US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

#1: HP G60-630US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black) Reviews!

>>>>See More Details & Check Price Now!<<<<<

I have this computer, and there is a way around the built in microphone problem. Use a USB microphone headset. That's what I do, and it works fine.

I've tested the standard microphone port, and it is poor quality like the other reviewers have said. I recorded my voice with it, and the sound was fuzzy and distorted. I could make out the words, but the quality was unacceptable, and would drive you crazy if you had to use it all the time. Shame on HP for that. That's why I took one star off of review; it should work properly.

However, the laptop is thus far, to me, a 5 star laptop in every other way. And I have found that if I use my Logitech USB headset (which cost about .00) to record my own voice, the sound quality is excellent. I've also used the USB microphone to train the voice recognition feature in Windows 7. The results were excellent.

I don't use Voip or videoconferencing, like the folks who have complained about the built in mic, but if you can use those features with a USB mic, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Perhaps someone who uses those features could try it out and report back here.

I paid 5.00 for the laptop, at Staples about a month ago. With coupons, I've seen the price lately as low as 0. At that price, it seems like a good deal, if all else continues to function as it should. So far I'm happy with it.

If your only concern is the mic, but you could live with using a USB mic (which I've read tend to give better results generally), then you may want to consider this model.

I've had my Inspiron mini for about a year and I still love it. It fits in my purse (along with my kindle) and it weighs next to nothing. I've taken it to conferences and on vacation. I have a portable DVD/CD burner to install programs and burn discs. I have another regular laptop and 5 other pcs but this is the only one I've ever bragged about and showed to strangers. I type about 65wpm and love the keyboard. (I have big hands for a woman.) This is not my fastest computer by any means and I have the XP version but this little guy has made me happy. Also, on several nights I've fallen asleep with it and can't tell you how many times I've literally kicked it out of bed not to mention all the times I've dropped it and it seems invincible. I'm using it now while I'm lounged back in my recliner watching big screen TV. I can hardly tell it's on my lap at all except for some warmth. (I'll probably end up sleeping with it tonight.)

The only thing I might change is getting another one with a faster processor. I can't justify doing that right now because I'm just too pleased with this tough, easy to use little puter.

Great service - Horace Abraham - Trinidad & Tobago
The product from DELL has come a long way with price and looks. Many users prefer DELL now that the price is competitive for the mini's. The main driver is the 1 year warranty.

Warning! - Timothy J. Heile - Maui, Hawaii
If your computer doesn't have an Intel chip in it, DO NOT BUT AN IPAD! It will not sync with your computer. I have been a lifelong Apple fan, and this has upset me so much that I will never buy another Mac product. I have a perfectly good Mac G5 desktop with a PowerPC chip in it. It's a bit older, but it's in great shape and I record all of my music on it. I bought the Ipad for my wife the day before our 3 week vacation, assuming it would be plug and play just like all my other Mac purchases. Not only was it not plug and play, it doesn't sync at all with my computer and it never will. I called the Apple help line, and they told me I basically have to buy a new computer that has an Intel chip in it. Nice trick Apple - if you want to lose customers. My wife loves the Ipad, but we are hugely disappointed in Apple for doing this to us.
