Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BN 10.1-Inch Java Brown Netbook - 11 Hours of Battery Life

#1: Toshiba Mini NB305-N410BN 10.1-Inch Java Brown Netbook - 11 Hours of Battery Life Reviews!

I've been very pleased with my new little netbook. It totally meets my needs. I've always had only a desktop computer and have wanted a netbook for a while just to have another option for surfing the net in other areas of my house and to also have while traveling. I recently just came back from vacation and it was so nice to have internet access. Fortunately my hotel had free wi-fi so I could log on during my stay and access email and surf the net.

What I like about this netbook is that it connects quickly and easily to the internet and that the color resolution is very clear and bright. The internet pages open up quickly. The battery life is also really long. So far I haven't used the battery much though. At home I keep it plugged in. But when I do run off of the battery it can last a long time. There is an icon at the bottom of the screen that you can point to that tells you what percentage of battery life is remaining and how many more hours of battery life remains. It has the potential to run 10 to 11 hours off of the battery.

I also like the smaller size. I didn't feel the need to purchase a laptop and basically get another complete computer since I already have my desktop. I also purchased a little mini mouse to use with this because I personally don't care to use a touchpad unless I have to. This touchpad for me works more easily than other touchpads I've used but for the most part I plug in the mouse.

I also bought a Toshiba external hard drive and loaded Word, Excel, and Power Point so now I can create and open those documents. I also downloaded Adobe Reader so I can read .pdf files. I also bought the Windows 7 upgrade. Even with those additions I've barely tapped into the hard drive space and I still have about 200 GB of the 250 GB remaining.

The netbook is the perfect size for me and was perfect for travel, as it easily fit into my carry on baggage. For the virus protection I have Norton Anti-Virus and Norton automatically detected and covered my new device when I was at home and connected to the internet for the first time through my internet service provider.

There are only a few very minor cons that I've encountered. On the left side of the screen there is a very narrow bar (maybe about 2 mm) that has the web cam information. Personally I haven't used that feature much so I just right click on that bar to open it so I can close it. When I first got the device I thought maybe there was a little something wrong on the left side of the screen but when I clicked on it I discovered this feature. I would not say though that this is a problem and it doesn't change my satisfaction with this netbook. It's just one simple extra step that I do when I start up.

The other very minor drawback is the smaller screen when you're on the internet. This isn't a Toshiba issue though. You'd encounter this on any smaller device. If you have several internet tool bars they take up space on the screen so then you have less reading space for the actual internet pages and for your email. Even on my desktop I limit the amount of tool bars I have so I did the same on my netbook. I have only a few tool bars because that's all I need and because I want more reading space.

I am very pleased with this Toshiba netbook and I highly recommend it. This is my first experience with Toshiba and I'm very happy.

I like this small computer. It is the best buy for the money. It is light weight, very portable, does everything I can do with my larger lap top. You do have to get used to the small screen but that will come with use.
