Do Not Buy This Flawed Device - Richard E. Tullie - Palm Beach County, FL
I own the Model 02 OQO. It has a built in "motherboard flaw" that causes it to "lock up" and not work at all. I was informed by Customer Service that this "has happened before" and that they "are aware of this problem." In fact they said "I just worked on one like this yesterday." This is unacceptable. When it locks up it becomes an unusable brick. Worst of all, THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE TWO MONTHS TO REPAIR THIS BEFORE THEY SHIPPED IT BACK TO ME. By the way they added: "We do not have a replacement or exchange policy."

Do not waste your time and money on this flawed device.

I loved it from the first time I got it.
This is a perfect size for me, Does everything a notebook or a netbook does but much smaller. Keyboard is very easy to use and the pen works great with XP Tablet PC Operating system. This will also run Vista and I think Windows 7 drivers are also available.

Has become dissapointing since it was purchased two years ago. - Anonymous - United States
Quite sadly, this has become one of the most regrettable purchases we've made.
Two years old and ,700 for the base unit dressed out with the Sprint card and since then:

-- OqO charges you full price (0 in 2007) for the CDMA card as if were a customer unwilling to sign a cellular contract, BUT SPRINT STILL REFUSES TO ACTIVATE THE CARD WITHOUT A TWO YEAR COMMITMENT !!! Since the card can't be officially swapped it is unlikely you'd switch carriers or disconnect the monthly WWAN service but it is criminal to pay full price for cellular gear then screwed for the same two year commitment other customers who received their Pantech card or USB data cards for subsidized / free. The WWAN bandwidth has become substandard in the last two years of ownership and a Blackberry phone on the all you can use plan is faster than OQO's embedded Sprint card.

-- Crappy warranty service, a device this small will invariably become dropped, the majority of people will drop their cell phone at least once and the OQO is no exception. It will split like an egg even if it is "protected" by the OQO Stronghold case which is anything but strong. which leads to the next topic....

-- Larcenous damage protection, every OQO should be protected with the optional 0 damage warranty for owner mishaps such as the inevitable drop...but their tech support group will make you jump through as many hoops as a wise Latina judge seeking a lifetime appointment before honoring it.

OqO's are hard to justify compared to a sub 0 netbook especially if you already have a data modem and BT capable cell phone to use instead of the embedded CDMA card. Even a cheap netbook can be WWAN equipped with a free USB modem for the same monthly price and same two year commitment the OqO is getting screwed out of.

Q1 Ultra XP Mobile PC

I want to be clear that I am selling mine (currently) because I no longer need to be away from home for work reasons. I want to state that first so that there's no conflict of interest.

Personally, I found it really handy. I was working full time and going to school for a Master's Degree. The UMPC is light and it let me take notes for class directly on the handouts for class. It was light enough that I could carry it every day and it can easily get on the net.

Here's a tip: if you keep the file size down, it will help the speed a lot. I had a ton of massive files that I needed to work with and it still did the job fine for me, but it's not going to be as fast as a home computer.
